If there is a problem
with laxity of the neck, then an incision is placed only behind
the earlobe (still no incisions visible in the front, no distortion
of the ear cartilage and changing the hairline). The neck
muscle (platysma muscle) will be tightened and excess skin
redrapped and excised without causing a step-off in the posterior
hairline. So you can still put your hair up without the tell
tale signs of surgery.
The post-operative bruising and swelling
is minimal, and the recovery is easier. Because there are
no large incisions, the facial skin remains well vascularized.
Laser Resurfacing can be performed at the same time
as the endoscopic vertical facelift to maximize the surgical
result.
